Local Bay Area state assemblymembers authored five out of seven new voting laws signed Monday by Gov. Jerry Brown.
One of the laws in particularly will benefit newly naturalized citizens, reports La Opinión.
The newly signed bill AB 84, authored by Mountain View Democratic Assembly member Paul Fong, allows newly naturalized citizens to register to vote by the seventh day before an election and vote up
until the polls close on Election Day.
